Glossary
This glossary explains the key terms used throughout the Quantaprice documentation. The goal is to provide clear definitions for concepts, structures, and behaviours that form the foundation of the pricing model.
Article
A product or SKU stored in Quantaprice. Articles may contain metadata and are referenced by pricelists and bundles.
SKU
Stock Keeping Unit — the unique identifier for an article.
Price Record
The price of one SKU on one pricelist from a start date: its named price fields and quantity breaks.
Pricelist
A collection of price records with its own currency, VAT mode, metadata, price rules and optional parent. Pricelists define the context in which prices are calculated.
Inheritance
A pricelist without its own price for a SKU gets its parent's price, with its own rules applied to it. Rules on several levels compound.
Override
A price set on a pricelist itself, which takes precedence over the price it would inherit.
Price Rule
A CEL expression on a pricelist that computes the sales price from the price fields, optionally limited to articles matching a metadata filter.
Bundle
A SKU made up of component SKUs. On each pricelist it is priced as the sum of its parts (optionally discounted) or at a fixed price.
Quantity Break
A tier of pricing based on minimum purchase quantity.
VAT Mode
Whether a pricelist's prices exclude VAT (NET) or include it (GROSS).
Rounding
The final step of price calculation, applying a rounding profile: the one named in the request, else the currency's default, else the global default.
Metadata
Key–value information attached to articles or pricelists. Used to select pricelists in queries and articles in price rules.
Scheduled Update
A change with a future start date, such as a price or VAT rate, that takes effect automatically at that moment.
Tenant
An isolated Quantaprice environment with its own data, API keys, users, and configuration. Each tenant operates independently, ensuring data separation between different organisations or projects. Tenants are provisioned through the Account Portal and accessed via tenant-specific API endpoints.
Historical Version
A previous version of a price record stored with a timestamp, allowing "as of" price queries.
As-of Query
A query that evaluates prices as they were at a specific moment in the past.
